Ultrashade’s sand pit covers are custom made to keep cats, leaf litter and debris out while allowing the sand to breath and the rain to flush and freshen the sand. The material used is a premium PVC coated mesh that is guaranteed not to rot or shrink.
Each cover is shaped and cut on site to ensure correct tension and perfect fit. A PVC edging is added as reinforcing and the appropriate ‘tie down’ system is incorporated….this might be chain weighted hem, shock cord or fasteners, depending on the construction of the sand pit. The cover is then finished off and installed with adjustable ties. The design of the cover takes into account the need for easy, simple operation for daily covering and uncovering of the sand pit.  Ultrashade has been making and installing sand pit covers for day cares, kindergartens, schools and preschools as well as long jump covers for schools for 20 years.
